Our client is a major real estate investment company with over $7 billion in assets and a portfolio of more than 500 properties across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. The company operates in the senior living sector and is wholly owned by a pension plan.
We are conducting a search for a Manager, Accounting Policy and Transaction Accounting. In this role, the Manager will provide technical accounting guidance on IFRS standards, fair value calculations, capital markets transactions (including derivatives and hedging), and acquisition/disposition accounting, as well as contribute to the preparation of financial statement disclosures. A key focus of the role (approximately 35%) will be leading the quarterly and annual audit processes.
This position is based in downtown Toronto with a hybrid work model (2–3 days per week in-office). While quarter-end and year-end periods are busy, the role offers a healthy work-life balance. There is strong potential for career growth, both within the accounting policy team and in broader finance and accounting functions.
The successful candidate will be a CPA with a strong technical accounting background, coming from a public accounting firm, and have strong IFRS/public audit experience. Ideally, candidates will be first-year Managers or potentially experienced Seniors. Compensation includes a base salary, annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including RRSP matching.
